24/7 Emergency Trades Across Cornwall & Devon — Raise a Job Now

Emergency Call-Outs

24/7 emergency trade services for power failures, burst pipes, boiler breakdowns, gas leaks, and more across Cornwall and Devon.

Help When You Need It Most

Emergencies do not wait for business hours. A burst pipe at midnight, a power failure on a Sunday morning, or a boiler breakdown in the middle of January — these situations demand an immediate response from someone you can trust. NJG Construction operates a 24/7 emergency dispatch service across Cornwall and Devon, connecting you with qualified local tradespeople who can attend your property quickly and resolve the problem safely.

When you raise an emergency job, it goes straight to the top of our dispatch queue. We notify available engineers in your area immediately and aim to have someone on site within 60 to 90 minutes for most locations across Cornwall and Devon. Our engineers arrive with well-stocked vans and the tools to deal with the most common emergency scenarios, so most problems are resolved in a single visit.

We understand that emergencies are stressful, especially when they happen outside normal hours or when you are away from the property. That is why we keep you informed at every stage — from dispatch confirmation to engineer arrival and job completion. Landlords and property managers can raise jobs on behalf of tenants, and we handle everything from there including access arrangements and post-job reporting.

Drain Blockages

Blocked drains, overflowing manholes, and sewage backups. We use high-pressure jetting and CCTV drain surveys to clear blockages and identify the root cause.

Your emergency is dispatched to the nearest available engineer. We confirm their name, ETA, and contact details so you know exactly who is coming and when.

Step 3

Problem resolved

Your engineer attends, resolves the emergency, and completes a full job report. If follow-up work is needed, we schedule it and keep you informed throughout.

Emergency Call-Out FAQs

How quickly can you get someone to my property?
For most locations across Cornwall and Devon, we aim to have an engineer on site within 60 to 90 minutes of your call. Exact arrival times depend on your location, the time of day, and current demand. More remote areas may take slightly longer, but we always prioritise emergencies and give you an honest ETA when you call. You will receive a text or WhatsApp confirmation with your engineer's name and estimated arrival time.
Is there an extra charge for out-of-hours call-outs?
Yes, emergency call-outs outside standard working hours (evenings, weekends, and bank holidays) carry a higher call-out fee than daytime appointments. This reflects the unsociable hours worked by our engineers. However, we always tell you the call-out fee upfront before dispatching an engineer, so there are no surprises. Once on site, the engineer will assess the situation and quote for any additional work before proceeding. Check our rates page for current emergency pricing.
What counts as an emergency?
We classify an emergency as any situation that poses an immediate risk to safety, health, or property. This includes complete power failures, gas leaks, burst or severely leaking pipes, boiler breakdowns in cold weather (especially with vulnerable occupants), flooding, sewage backups, and security issues such as broken doors or windows. If you are unsure whether your situation qualifies, call us and we will advise. Non-urgent repairs can be booked as standard jobs at lower rates.
What areas do you cover for emergency call-outs?
We cover all of Cornwall and Devon for emergency call-outs. This includes major towns such as Truro, Falmouth, Newquay, Bodmin, St Austell, Plymouth, Exeter, Torquay, Barnstaple, and Bideford, as well as rural villages and coastal communities throughout both counties. Our engineers are based at various locations across the region to minimise response times wherever you are.
Can I raise an emergency on behalf of a tenant?
Absolutely. Landlords and property managers regularly raise emergency jobs on behalf of their tenants through our system. You can provide the tenant's contact details so our engineer can coordinate access directly, and we send the full job report to both you and the tenant once the work is complete. If you manage multiple properties, we can set up your account so your tenants can raise jobs directly with automatic notifications sent to you.
What if the problem cannot be fully fixed on the first visit?
Our engineers carry comprehensive parts stock and resolve most emergencies in a single visit. However, some situations require specialist parts, further investigation, or follow-up work that goes beyond the initial emergency repair. In these cases, your engineer will make the property safe and carry out a temporary repair where possible, then we schedule the follow-up work at the earliest opportunity. You are kept informed at every stage and quoted for any additional work before it begins.
